Introduction

The genus Myscelia occurs in lowland forest and scrub areas, ranging from the southern U. S. to tropical South America. Recorded larval hosts include Dalechampia, Tragia and Adelia triloba (Euphorbiaceae) (DeVries 1987, J. Angulo, pers. comm. 2009). The above photographs are not upside down: the butterflies like to perch head downwards.
