A species ranging from Costa Rica to Colombia. Larvae have been found feeding on Lindackeria laurina (Achariaceae), a unique host family for Dioptinae (Miller 2009).Characteristics
Superficially very similar to and often conflated with E. pseudena, but they are easily distinguished by the coloration of the abdominal venter: dark brown in E. dorsispilota, white in E. pseudena (Miller 2009).References
